• De’VIA (Deaf View/Image Art) is a type of art which, “expresses the Deaf experience from a cultural, linguistic, and intersectional point of view,” (paragraph 1) and it “challenge[s] oppression and celebrate[s Deaf] culture” (paragraph 2). De’VIA is a common way to express resistance to dominant narratives. Some prominent De’VIA artists include Maureen Klusza, Nancy Rourke, David Call, and Betty Miller, among many others. /
